Because what this movie says needs to be heard
We understand that it seems ridiculous to believe there is really anything new under the sun when it comes to sexuality, and we understand it seems even sillier to think we could fill a full length movie with enough new ideas to make watching the movie worthwhile. The truth is that there is something new under the sun when it comes to sexuality. To be fair, you could argue that since we did all our research from existing materials, it isn’t really new. However, the more complete and fact based description of physical female sexual response (derived from existing studies) that we have put forth is new. And looking at any other aspect of sexual life with this new knowledge allows for a new perspective from which to gain new understanding.
Because too many women, men, boys, and girls are hurt by the misunderstandings and miscommunications which exist because our culture does not have adequate knowledge of how women function sexually beyond the act of reproduction
You might say that the information presented in this movie creates an avalanche of ideas. Once the basic physical misunderstandings are straightened out, it is hard to find an aspect of our lives that cannot be viewed differently through this new perspective. It changes, in a small, but very basic way, the perception that males and females have of each other and of themselves. Again, we know it seems odd that; ¹ There is something our culture doesn’t know about the female body yet, and ² That knowing it would make much of a difference. All we can say is that it does seem weird, and it did seem weird to us as the research was unfolding. But that it’s true is a main part of why we think that making this movie is so important.
Because this information is useless unless people hear it
We don’t mean to toot our own horn, but we’ve got an innovative way to tell this story. We call it a “visual essay.” There are no interviews, just quotes and citations to give the information credibility. It is literally the visualization of an essay, with the visualization having a whimsical, entertaining edge. Everyone knows that if a movie isn’t entertaining, no one will watch it, and if a documentary isn’t informative and meaningful, no one will respect it. The information we’re presenting sells itself. The movie we’ve created to portray the information is offbeat, humorous, and engaging.
